The company said it is discussing the sale of its Sol de Cerrado and Consórcio Candonga operations, and no binding agreement has been signed. Sol de Cerrado is a solar energy generator in the south-eastern state of Minas Gerais, with an installed capacity of 766 MWp. Consórcio Candonga operates a 140 MW hydropower plant in Minas Gerais. Vale acquired Aliança from Minas Gerais utility company Cemig a year ago for BRL2.7 billion ($470 million). Vale was due to unveil a BRL70 billion investment plan for the mining-rich region of Carajás in northern Brazil on Friday.
