Rebajas en los Precios de Celulares Marcas Aplican Descuentos en Argentina

The recent reduction in tariffs for imported cellphones is starting to make a noticeable impact on the wallets of Argentine consumers. Brands with a strong local presence, such as Motorola, Realme, Samsung, and official Apple resellers, have already implemented significant discounts on their cutting-edge models. This move by the national government to slash import tariffs from 16% to 8%, with a total elimination planned for 2026, just before the latest legislative elections, was pivotal. Another crucial measure was the reduction of internal taxes from 19% to 9.5%, directly affecting the final prices of products.

“The double tax decrease—both in tariffs and internal taxes—affects smartphone sales prices after years of unaffordable costs compared to other regions,”

an industry expert explained. These reductions aim to combat the gray market that illegally imports such devices.

Realme took the lead in announcing price cuts. The Realme Note series saw significant discounts following the new tax framework. For example, the Realme Note 50 now offers a price drop of 25%, making it more accessible at $149.999 compared to its original $199.999 price tag.

In the premium mid-range segment, Realme presents the stylish and durable Realme 12 Pro—a solid choice for those seeking performance, design, and resilience without breaking the bank.

Motorola surprised consumers with its affordable premium cellphones like Razr 60 Ultra and Edge 60 Pro that compete directly against Samsung’s Galaxy S25 models. Thanks to reduced tariffs, Motorola slashed prices by up to 20% on these new releases compared to their predecessors.

Samsung and Apple also embraced these changes by lowering prices by around 7.5%. Despite existing stock being subject to previous taxes, both companies decided it was essential to pass on some savings from reduced taxes onto customers immediately.

“By offering lower-priced products post-tax reductions, we aim to provide Argentine consumers with better access to technology,”

said Alejandro Goldín from maximstore—an official Apple channel in Argentina—highlighting their commitment towards consumer affordability.

Samsung confirmed its dedication to transferring any available benefits resulting from reduced taxes directly to consumers through lowered product pricing across various models like Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy A series phones.

As multiple Chinese cellphone brands join the Argentine market alongside established players like Motorola and Samsung—looking at you Nubia Z70 Ultra—it remains uncertain if they will follow suit with price reductions based on current plans shared during consultations with Clarín.

While some manufacturers are quick to adjust pricing strategies post-tax changes aiming at increasing accessibility for tech-savvy audiences in Argentina; others are yet undecided about discount implementations looking forward into this evolving landscape of mobile technologies.
