A seemingly routine cosmetic procedure in the city of Posadas turned into a bizarre tale of deception and legal entanglements when a 44-year-old woman from the gypsy community paid for her treatment with fake gold. The incident led to her arrest, causing a ripple effect that involved threats, accusations, and a judicial showdown.
The story unfolded on an ordinary day when the woman visited a doctor’s office for a facial aesthetic treatment. From the beginning, things seemed off as the doctor later recounted,
“She came with the intention to deceive me, asking for the most expensive products.”
Despite initial misgivings, he proceeded with high-end procedures at her insistence.
“In no moment did I think this person would leave me owing,”
expressed Matías Reynoso, the duped doctor. After completing the treatments requested by the patient— which also included more threads than initially planned—the time for payment arrived. To his surprise and dismay, instead of genuine payment, she handed him what he described as “a worthless trinket.
”
Feeling cheated and rightfully so, Reynoso took immediate action by reporting the incident. Little did he know that this simple act would set off a chain reaction involving threats to his life and business from members of the gypsy community linked to his patient. The situation escalated quickly as both he and his lawyer received menacing phone calls.
