The Company of Metropolitan Trains of São Paulo (CPTM) reported that the train driver had spotted the person on the tracks and immediately alerted the control center. However, by the time security personnel arrived at the scene, the man had already fled. The incident is now under investigation by the Civil Police for potential charges related to endangering railway safety and inciting criminal acts, as outlined in the Brazilian Penal Code.
Dirceu Valle, the president of the Bar Association of Brazil in Mogi das Cruzes, emphasized the serious implications of such actions, stating that they disrupt essential public services and put human lives at risk.
The dangers of social media influence and the quest for validation were highlighted by psychiatrist Rodrigo Martins Leite from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Despite the company’s extensive surveillance measures, including over 9,000 cameras and continuous patrols, there have been multiple instances of track invasions.
