Baseball 2025 Caribbean Series Update by Julio Pabón February 4, 2025 Image Credit: Serie Del Caribe BRONX, NY — We don’t have to be in Mexicali, Mexico to watch the games thanks to Major League Baseball’s coverage. I have been able to stay on top of some of the game and would like to share the following update. Mexico – Dominican Republic The host country Mexico keeps on winning. Today, they kept the powerful Leones del Escogido (Dominican Republic) managed by Albert Pujols lineup at bay to give Charros de Jalisco (Mexico) a chance to win. Mexico might not have the power hitters, but their pitching is key. Right-hander, Ronald Medrano did his job leading his team to a 2-0 victory at Nido de las Águilas Stadium in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Puerto Rico – Venezuela It looked promising for Puerto Rico ahead in the early innings by a score of 3-0 over Venezuela. But just when you thought the game was going well for Puerto Rico, Venezuela managed by former big league catcher Henry Blanco came back and banged out nine unanswered runs, scoring in every inning the rest of the way to post a 10-5 victory . Puerto Rico managed by former MLB infielder Wil Cordero, is also 1-2, but would lose a head-to-head tiebreaker with Venezuela due to the runs of this game.
